Sydney: City Overview

Sydney is the capital of the state of New South Wales and has a population of more than 4.8 million, making it the largest city by population in Australia. Located on Australia’s east coast it can be called the financial capital of Australia with an advanced market economy with strengths in finance, manufacturing and tourism. Its gross regional product is the largest in Australia.
